Covenant Reassigns What Fire Does Not Destroy
By Alchemist Iris Chapman
Not everything Adam constructed while misaligned must be burned to the ground.
Some internal structures can be healed. Some behavioral patterns can be corrected. Some capacities can be reassigned. Personas that once operated out of fear, survival, ego, family conditioning, cultural expectation, or an exploitative institutional system often hold valuable constitutional material. That material can be reclaimed and brought under entirely new management.
When that occurs, the appropriate response is not shame. It is celebration.
This is the Four of Wands: The Repurposing of the Persona.
The Covenant Chakra deepens this threshold. Repurposing is never about discovering that an old, trauma-formed persona still has handy skills; it marks a radical change of allegiance. The persona vacates one government and enters another. Its hard-won competence remains. Its experience remains. Its history remains.
Its covenant changes.
Luke 5 provides the master blueprint:
“And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me. And he left all, rose up, and followed him.”
— Luke 5:27–28
Then comes the response:
“And Levi made him a great feast in his own house…”
— Luke 5:29
The Four of Wands is that feast. A persona that once served an empire of survival has crossed the threshold into the Kingdom. Covenant determines whether that reassignment endures.
The Wands Curriculum Has Reached Stabilization
The movement of Divine Fire has advanced through four distinct initiations:
- Ace of Wands (Kindle): Divine Fire enters Adam’s earth.Core Query: Can God trust Adam with fire?
- Two of Wands (Empower): Adam consciously joins with Eve—the Holy Spirit, Helpmeet, and Manifestor-in-Chief—granting the operative persona generative backing.Core Query: Can the empowered persona remain inside the agreement?
- Three of Wands (Guide): Adam receives ongoing, living Divine Direction.Core Query: Can Adam follow today’s active coordinates rather than yesterday’s assumptions?
- Four of Wands (Repurpose): Divine Guidance encounters an existing persona and issues a mandate: I have a lawful use for you.Core Query: Can this recovered persona remain faithful to its new government?
“Follow Me” Is a Covenant Invitation
Jesus does not walk up to the tax collector and demand, “Become someone else.”
He speaks two words: “Follow me.”
That language is constitutional. It demands a shift in sovereign allegiance. Levi was already carrying out a government assignment:
- Rome provided his backing and authority.
- The tax booth defined his daily function.
- His professional status dictated his social sphere.
- His administrative skills served an imperial economic engine.
Jesus introduces higher jurisdiction. Levi must make a voluntary choice—the Father never forces an alliance. Adam decides which government receives his labor and loyalty.
Leave Old Jurisdiction ──► Rise in Agreement ──► Follow the Living Word
The old contract is terminated; the new covenant is enacted.
Repentance Is a Change of Government
This structural shift strips away the religious baggage surrounding repentance. Repentance is not perpetual self-flagellation. It is not Adam lingering forever outside the tax booth, groveling over how damaged he was for working there.
True repentance—metanoia—is a change of mind, orientation, and government.
Levi stands up. What did he leave behind? The Roman tax commission. What remained intact?
- His intellect and analytical precision
- His systemic organizational capacity
- His command of fiscal records and civic procedures
- His interpersonal navigation and cultural literacy
Only the government changed.
Without the Covenant Chakra, repurposing merely creates a spiritualized counterfeit of the original pathology:
- The Controller learns prophetic vocabulary while tightening his grip.
- The Performer enters platform ministry while chasing validation.
- The Aggressor rebrands hostility as “spiritual warfare.”
- The Pleaser calls chronic self-abandonment “servant leadership.”
- The Hypervigilant mistakes unhealed anxiety for “discernment.”
Covenant prevents the old ruler from operating under sacred cover.
The Fire Separates Capacity From Allegiance
Divine Fire tests, exposes, and separates, but it does not incinerate indiscriminately:
“Every man’s work shall be made manifest… because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.”
— 1 Corinthians 3:13
The question is always: What sort is it?
Some structures are purely toxic and must burn. Others consist of sound material held hostage by corrupt motives. Divine Fire burns away the misaligned government while leaving the raw competence intact. Adam learns to decouple capacity from pathology, skill from allegiance, and persona from tyrannical systems.
Jesus Did Not Destroy Levi; He Drafted Him
Levi was discovered at the receipt of custom—not meditating in a sanctuary, but immersed in the machinery of commerce.
He already knew how to document transactions, navigate organizational hierarchies, manage assets, and deal with disparate personalities under pressure. These competencies were developed within a compromised system, yet the skills themselves were neutral. The governing authority was the corrupting factor.
Jesus did not dismantle Levi; He drafted him.
Do not destroy what Divine Direction intends to redeem and repurpose.
The Physician’s Law
When the religious establishment protested Christ dining with tax collectors, His answer cut to the core of restoration:
“They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
— Luke 5:31–32
A true physician differentiates the patient from the disease. The infection is not the person; the malady is not the organism.
- The Controller is not identical to the spirit of control.
- The Aggressor is not identical to the wound of rage.
- The Pleaser is not identical to the terror of abandonment.
The Great Physician neutralizes the pathology. Covenant reassigns the purified asset to a lawful post.
Covenant Reassigns the Recovered Capacity
| Old Persona | Misaligned Government | Recoverable Capacity | Covenant Assignment |
| Controller | Fear, manipulation, domination | Organization, precision, oversight | Faithful administration |
| Aggressor | Anger, defensiveness, retaliation | Courage, decisiveness, boundary defense | Lawful protection |
| Pleaser | Fear of rejection, self-abandonment | Empathy, diplomacy, hospitality | Loving service without surrendering sovereignty |
| Hypervigilant | Chronic anxiety, threat fixation | Observation, anticipation, situational awareness | Sentinel discernment |
| Performer | Validation-seeking, image crafting | Communication, creativity, excellence | Skillful expression in service of purpose |
The persona is not just given a new title; it receives a constitutional assignment.
The Four Pillars: Architecture of the Unshakable House
The Four of Wands forms the first stable, balanced quadrangle in the Wands journey. Four points establish foundation, walls, and structural endurance.
[Wand 1: God]
(Divine Government)
│
▼
[Wand 2: Adam]
(Conscious Agreement)
│
▼
[Wand 3: Eve]
(Generative Empowerment)
│
▼
[Wand 4: Repurposed Persona]
(Recovered Capacity in Service)
│
▼
[Covenant Chakra: Zebulun]
(Constitutional Stabilization)
Now the fire is no longer an exposed spark on the wind. The fire has a house.
The House Is Crucial
“And Levi made him a great feast in his own house…”
— Luke 5:29
Levi did not tear down his residence; he altered what took place inside its walls.
Covenant shifts the operating authority of an existing structure without leveling the foundation. The “house” represents:
- A professional trade or intellectual discipline
- An accumulated network or set of business assets
- A personal communication style or creative mastery
- The reservoir of wisdom gathered during seasons of survival
The question is never merely Where was this acquired? The governing question is: Whom does it serve now? What once fed personal insecurity can house kingdom purpose.
Covenant Prevents Spiritual Waste
An undisciplined believer often assumes every trace of their past must be discarded. This impulse produces tragic spiritual waste.
Scripture reveals God’s economy:
- Joseph understood Egyptian bureaucratic logistics.
- Moses understood pharaonic court politics and desert survival.
- Paul understood Pharisaic jurisprudence, Greek rhetoric, and Roman legal rights.
- Peter understood seafaring, crew dynamics, and physical grit.
- Matthew (Levi) understood forensic accounting, systemic trade, and social outcasts.
The kingdom does not throw away developed strength; it re-anchors it in righteousness.
The Feast Represents Reconciliation
The Four of Wands radiates joy because internal civil war has ceased.
Adam no longer expends vital energy fighting his own nature or despising the survival mechanisms that kept him alive in the dark. He inspects them, strips their unauthorized authority, heals their wounds, and redeems their utility.
Levi is not celebrating Rome; he is celebrating the Call. The feast honors liberation from an illegitimate master.
Eve and the Repurposed Persona
The Holy Spirit does not empower a dysfunctional identity.
Divine Call ──► Adam's Agreement ──► Separation from Old System ──► Healing ──► Covenant Reassignment ──► Eve's Infilling ──► Faithful Service
Eve does not make the Controller more efficient at manipulating others, nor the Performer more magnetic at captivating crowds for self-glory. The persona must pass through constitutional reassignment before generative power is entrusted to it.
The Rogue Four: Sacred Vocabulary, Same Old Engine
A persona can relocate its operational theater without surrendering its core allegiance:
- The street fighter becomes a toxic online apologist.
- The corporate climber becomes an authoritarian church administrator.
- The chronic codependent becomes an exhausted, boundaryless volunteer.
The environment shifted; the throne did not.
“Ye shall know them by their fruits.”
— Matthew 7:16
Covenant looks past pious jargon to audit the fruit: Is this behavior producing peace, or is it feeding persona survival?
Faithfulness Over Recognition
Old personas were forged in performance-reward dynamics:
- The Performer survived on praise.
- The Pleaser survived on acceptance.
- The Controller survived on leverage.
When brought under Covenant, these reward channels are severed. The recovered persona learns: I do not execute this function for psychological currency. I execute it because this capacity has been dedicated to the Father.
Emotional conversion initiates change; ordinary, quiet faithfulness cements government.
The Four of Wands Is a Homecoming
In classical iconography, the Four of Wands features an arbor of greenery, blossoming garlands, and celebratory fellowship before a citadel.
Internally, it marks a profound milestone: an exiled, wounded fragment of Adam has returned home.
It no longer needs to manipulate to survive. It no longer needs to build independent fiefdoms. It has a seat at the table, a clear assignment, and an accountable boundary.
Adam now commands an integrated inner council where multiple capacities pull in the same direction. Yet once several powerful, repurposed personas are operating concurrently under one roof, a new friction surfaces:
What happens when these potent internal forces bump into each other?
That tension marks the threshold of the Five of Wands.

| Operational Formula | Misaligned Government Removed + Useful Capacity Retained + Divine Direction + Adam’s Covenant Agreement + Eve’s Empowerment + Repeated Faithfulness = The Stabilized Repurposed Persona |
Four of Wands Declaration
I do not confuse my pathology with my identity.
I do not destroy what Divine Wisdom intends to heal.
I release the government that once misused my capacities.
I recover what remains useful.
I accept its lawful reassignment.
I do not put sacred clothing on an unchanged persona.
I do not return to the booth simply because the old government offers familiar rewards.
The Father directs.
I agree.
Eve empowers.
The persona serves.
Covenant stabilizes the house.
What once served survival can now serve purpose.
What once divided my house can now contribute to its peace.
And that homecoming is worthy of celebration.
