Inherited, Non-inherited chakras

Understanding the Architecture of the 18-ChakraVerse

By Alchemist Iris Chapman

Why eighteen chakras?

Most metaphysical traditions focus on seven primary centers: Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown. Within the 18-ChakraVerse, I work with those familiar centers—but I also integrate eleven additional stations:

  • Earth Star
  • Navel
  • Sentinel
  • High Heart
  • Veil
  • High Throat
  • Causal
  • Soul Star
  • Stellar Gateway
  • Covenant
  • Logos

I categorize these two groups as inherited chakras and non-inherited chakras.

These designations do not imply that one group is spiritual while the other is mundane. Nor do they establish an esoteric hierarchy where someone operating “higher” chakras is more enlightened, chosen, or valuable than someone else.

I am describing functional differentiation:

The inherited chakras equip Adam for the human experience.

The non-inherited chakras help Adam learn how to govern that experience.

Together, they form a unified, living architecture of human consciousness.

What Do I Mean by Adam?

Throughout this framework, Adam functions as a corporate title for humanity—male and female. Adam is not merely a single historical figure at the beginning of Genesis; Adam represents the human ruler developing inside the Father’s creation.

“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion…’ So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” — Genesis 1:26–27

Psalm 8:4–6 echoes this entrusted authority: “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands.”

Adam enters an established environment carrying extraordinary innate capacities: to perceive, desire, choose, love, articulate, imagine, build, dismantle, learn, correct, and govern.

Yet possessing capacity does not mean Adam understands how to operate it coherently. 1 Corinthians 15:45–47 outlines the developmental trajectory: “‘The first man Adam became a living being.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit… The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.”

Having a voice does not mean one knows when to speak. Possessing raw will does not mean one understands lawful authority. Loving someone does not mean one understands how to hold a boundary.

Adam’s curriculum is learning to govern Adam. The chakra system provides the internal diagnostic equipment for examining that curriculum.

The Inherited Chakras and the Creation Matrix

The inherited chakras represent foundational human operating equipment, each carrying an indispensable anatomical and spiritual assignment:

  • Root (Embodied Presence & Security): Grounding and stability within physical creation (“You who laid the foundations of the earth, so that it should not be moved forever,” Psalm 104:5).
  • Sacral (Desire, Pleasure & Generativity): The primal generative engine designed to produce and reproduce life (“Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it,” Genesis 1:28).
  • Solar Plexus (Will, Choice & Agency): Personal responsibility and the power of decision (“I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life,” Deuteronomy 30:19).
  • Heart (Love & Emotional Coherence): The core sanctuary that establishes internal identity (“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life,” Proverbs 4:23).
  • Throat (Expression & Truth-Telling): The communicative instrument that translates internal state into external reality (“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit,” Proverbs 18:21).
  • Third Eye (Perception & Insight): Clear sight free from distortion (“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light,” Matthew 6:22).
  • Crown (Receptive Openness to Higher Order): Alignment with divine wisdom rather than self-authored limitation (“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths,” Proverbs 3:5–6).

These centers align with the seven days of Genesis and the archetypal zodiac to form the Creation Matrix:

Blueprint ➡ Construction Foundation & Growth ➡ Identity ➡ Relationship ➡ Sovereignty ➡ Co-Rulership

This pattern governs how possibility becomes physical experience. We encounter it whenever we launch an enterprise, form a relationship, manage a home, write a book, or step through a personal life transition. The inherited centers provide the internal sensory and operational capacities through which Adam navigates that creative process.

Capacity Does Not Automatically Produce Government

A human being can possess immense creative capacity while remaining unconscious of how that capacity operates.

Ecclesiastes 10:16 warns: “Woe to you, O land, when your king is a child.” Possessing a crown or raw capacity without the mature internal structure to rule guarantees disorder. James 3:2–5 diagnoses the specific hazard of inherited equipment without governance: “If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body… See how great a forest a little fire kindles!”

Without internal government:

  • You speak without evaluating the harvest your words produce.
  • You exercise will while remaining driven by unexamined fear.
  • You love deeply while permitting your own boundaries to be dismantled.
  • You perceive an accurate dynamic while misjudging its root cause.
  • You create circumstances and then experience them as though you had no participation in their construction.

Proverbs 29:18 notes, “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law.” Raw human motion without higher architectural oversight degrades into chaos.

This is where the model shifts from passive awareness to strict accountability. Accountability is not self-blame or shame; it is architectural clarity. Once Adam awakens to what is being constructed through personal choices, a deeper operational question emerges: Who is governing the internal engine?

This is the precise threshold where the non-inherited chakras enter the curriculum.

The Non-Inherited Chakras and the Tribal Matrix

The non-inherited chakras represent specialized functions of internal government. Mapped to the tribal allocations of Israel, they describe a differentiated administration:

Judah / Levi (Earth Star) ➡ Covenant Origin ➡ Reuben (Navel) ➡ Self-Governance ➡ Gad (Sentinel) ➡ Protection ➡ Benjamin (High Heart) ➡ Belonging ➡ Dan (Veil) ➡ Discernment ➡ Naphtali (High Throat) ➡ Revelation ➡ Simeon (Causal) ➡ Wisdom Through Experience ➡ Asher (Soul Star) ➡ Soul Blessing ➡ Stellar Gateway) ➡ Higher Understanding ➡ Zebulun (Covenant) ➡ Covenant Relationship ➡ Joseph (Logos) ➡ Divine Administration

Just as a physical nation requires distinct offices—treasury, judicial courts, defense perimeters, foreign diplomacy, resource management—the internal kingdom of Adam requires functional differentiation.

The sequence begins at Covenant Origin (ground received) and advances toward Divine Administration (order executed). It trains the internal ruler to govern personal appetite (Reuben), establish protective perimeters without paranoia (Gad), experience deep intimacy without losing selfhood (Benjamin), audit assumptions through judicial scrutiny (Dan), and translate revelation into operational logistics (Joseph).

Why Call Them “Non-Inherited”?

The term “non-inherited” does not mean these stations are inaccessible to ordinary people, nor does it denote an elitist spiritual status. It describes developmental specialization.

The inherited centers provide foundational equipment; the non-inherited centers address the complex governmental questions that arise from using that equipment:

  • The Heart gives the capacity to love; the High Heart asks how to love without attempting to rescue or control the other.
  • The Throat gives the capacity to speak; the High Throat asks how to articulate divine revelation without manipulating the listener.
  • The Third Eye gives perception; the Veil provides the internal systems audit to separate raw evidence from personal projection.
  • The Crown provides spiritual reception; the Stellar Gateway evaluates whether the insight aligns with proper timing, seasons, and systemic context.

Raw capacity evolves into deliberate specialization. Specialization demands disciplined internal government.

Earth Star: The Bridge Between Architectures

The Earth Star holds a unique, dual assignment within this model.

Within the Creation Matrix, the Earth Star represents pre-form orientation: Where am I? It enables Adam to survey the field before construction begins.

Within the Tribal Matrix, Judah and Levi anchor the Earth Star into Covenant Origin: What lawful order governs the ground beneath my feet?

We see this awakening in Genesis 28:16–17 when Jacob stirs from sleep: “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it… How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!” It is the realization commanded to Moses at the burning bush: “Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground” (Exodus 3:5).

The Earth Star is the structural bridge: Creation supplies Adam with a place to stand; Covenant supplies that standing with divine alignment and order.

Integration: Avoiding Esoteric Hierarchies

Two persistent errors must be avoided when working with this architecture:

1. Inherited does not mean lower.

Higher specialization cannot compensate for neglected foundations. If the physical Root is unstable, attempting to administer a grand blueprint via Logos will result in collapse. If the Throat cannot speak direct truth, appealing to high-level Covenant agreements is hollow.

Paul directly dismantles this hierarchical delusion in 1 Corinthians 12:21–22: “And the eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you’; nor again the head to the feet, ‘I have no need of you.’ No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.” Development is not the abandonment of foundational human centers; it is the capacity to coordinate them with integrity.

2. Non-inherited does not mean “more spiritual.”

Working with the Logos, Covenant, or Stellar Gateway does not elevate an individual over their peers. Spiritual vocabulary often masks subtle egoic posturing. Within the 18-ChakraVerse, expansion produces greater accountability, not superiority.

Luke 12:48 states the uncompromising standard of higher stations: “For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.” Greater insight demands stricter discernment; greater authority demands uncompromising self-discipline.

The Practical Architecture of Accountability

This model is not intended to remain suspended in abstract metaphysics. It must function on an ordinary Tuesday afternoon:

  • Can I identify when an emotional impulse is attempting to usurp the throne of my will?
  • Can I set a clear perimeter without degenerating into hostile defense?
  • Can I audit an assumption before treating it as absolute fact?
  • Can I recognize when a repeating failure is simply Causal feedback instructing me to alter my choices?
  • Can I steward a practical agreement with integrity, even when it is inconvenient?

Chakra work is often reduced to clearing blocks so an individual can feel energetic relief. Restoration and healing are vital, but they are preliminary steps. In Matthew 12:43–45, Jesus illustrates the danger of passive clearing without internal government: when a house is swept and put in order but left unoccupied by a lawful ruler, it remains vulnerable to greater collapse.

True restoration matches the mandate of Isaiah 58:12: “You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.”

The ultimate question is functional:

What will you build with your restored capacity?

If your voice returns, what will you speak? If your Heart heals, how will you love? If your vision clears, how will you govern your actions?

Healing restores function. Government determines what happens with that function.

The inherited chakras supply humanity with the equipment for physical, emotional, and mental life. The non-inherited chakras systematically train the governor to administer that life under divine order. Ultimately, the entire architecture points toward a single, unchanging assignment:

Adam’s curriculum is learning to govern Adam.
