The Vertices: The Eight Gates of Choice: Part Two

The Cornerstone, Faith, and the Birth of a New Beginning

By Alchemist Iris Chapman | Chakra & Energy Healing

Introduction: The Anatomy of Hesitation and Haste

Every vertex is a gate. But it is an unyielding law of consciousness that not every gate is entered.

When confronted with the sheer pressure of the Vertex, the un-governed human psyche typically fractures into one of two systemic distortions: stagnation or reckless velocity.

  • The Freeze: Some people stand paralyzed before life-altering decisions for years, hiding behind the spiritualized excuse of “seeking clarity,” when they are actually waiting for absolute, risk-free certainty before they move.
  • The Haste: Others rush headlong through the gate without an ounce of wisdom, driven by panic or blind reactivity, foolishly hoping that momentum alone will magically produce maturity.

The Vertex teaches a radically different pathway. It demands that Adam execute a governed choice—a decision that is neither rushed by fear nor stalled by hesitation. This is the precise psychological coordinate where accumulated wisdom is forced to transmute into raw, embodied courage.

The Structural Mandate: Wisdom must stop being a philosophy and become a step.

The Cornerstone: The Governing Vertex

Scripture gives us one of the most structurally profound images of the vertex through the ancient Hebrew word pinnah.

Translated directly, pinnah means “corner.” More specifically, it designates the precise, foundational angle where two separate, massive stone walls meet. It is a literal structural vertex.

But sacred literature speaks of an even greater evolutionary architectural element. Psalm 118 declares:

“The stone the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.”

The exact Hebrew phrasing is rosh pinnah ($\textbf{רֹאשׁ פִּנָּה}$)—literally translated as “the head of the corner.”

The rosh pinnah is not simply another random block of masonry supporting the dead weight of the building. It is the governing vertex. Every other wall takes its absolute measurement from its placement. Every angle aligns itself to its coordinates. If the cornerstone is misplaced by even a millimeter, every single wall that follows it across time becomes fundamentally warped, distorted, and structurally unstable. One single vertex determines the structural integrity of the entire architecture.

This is why Christ is explicitly designated as the Chief Cornerstone. He is not merely a historical or theological figure supporting the roof of a belief system; He is the living, geometric point of absolute alignment.

Every Decision Measures Against Something

The Vertices teach Adam that every important choice he makes within the classroom of the Cube is actively being measured against a cornerstone. Everyone has one—there is no such thing as an un-anchored life.

  • Some people measure their choices against the cornerstone of Fear (self-preservation).
  • Some measure against the cornerstone of Ambition (egoic inflation).
  • Some against the cornerstone of Approval (codependency).
  • Some against the cornerstone of Pleasure (somatic indulgence).
  • Some against the cornerstone of Power (external control).

Whatever sits at the rosh pinnah of your consciousness dictates the entire architecture of the persona that follows.

Within the mechanics of the 18-ChakraVerse, Christ becomes the Cornerstone because He provides the perfect, undistorted point of cosmic alignment. When Adam reaches a gate of choice, his internal dialogue undergoes a massive mutation. The immature question, “What do I want?” is hollowed out.

The deeper, sovereign question becomes: “Which choice aligns perfectly with the Cornerstone?” Decision is no longer a matter of petty ego preference; it is an act of high-level geometric alignment.

Faith Begins Where Knowledge Ends

One of the greatest discoveries made at the Vertices is that true faith appears much later in the spiritual curriculum than most people imagine.

Faith is not required at the Point of raw awareness. It is not required while Adam is tracing the flat floor of the Square. It is not even required while he is mastering the administrative Edges of his life. Knowledge, instruction, and natural consequence carry him effortlessly through those foundational stages.

But eventually, knowledge hits its natural, structural limit. Adam thoroughly understands the spiritual principle. He has meticulously counted the cost. He has weighed the consequences in his gut. He knows exactly what wisdom requires of him.

Now, there is nothing left to analyze. There are no more books to read, no more data points to collect, and no more processing to do. Only one thing remains: The Step.

This is the true definition of faith. Faith is not blind, irrational belief cooked up to escape reality. Faith is directional movement executed immediately after sufficient understanding has been received. Faith begins precisely where explanation ends.

Every Great Life Has a Vertex

The sacred historical records are entirely defined by these sudden, geometric vertices. History routinely bypasses the long, quiet years of background preparation, but it permanently remembers the exact coordinate of the decision:

  • Abraham leaves everything familiar behind to step into an uncharted territory.
  • Moses turns his back on safety and walks directly back into the furnace of Egypt.
  • Ruth refuses to turn back and binds her destiny to Naomi’s unseen path.
  • David drops the King’s heavy armor and walks down into the valley toward Goliath.
  • Esther speaks her definitive line: “If I perish, I perish,” and enters the forbidden court.
  • Mary utters her terrifying, magnificent “Yes” to an impossible, world-altering calling.

None of these decisions were magical or spontaneous. They were memorable because the decision instantly revealed exactly who these souls had become under pressure. The vertex is where years of invisible preparation instantly harden into external action, where intellectual understanding becomes obedience, and where learning becomes life.

God Stops Explaining

One of the most remarkable, sobering patterns in Scripture is that God eventually stops talking. He stops explaining, He stops providing signs, and He stops filling the silence.

This silence is not divine abandonment. It is absolute trust.

Healthy parents eventually stop tying their children’s shoes. Capable teachers eventually stop handing out every answer. Grounded mentors eventually step back from the workstation. They do not do this because they no longer care; they do it because true spiritual growth demands individual ownership.

God teaches Adam. God corrects Adam’s Solar Plexus. God questions his heart. God strengthens his spine. But then, the Divine places the full weight of reality squarely before him:

“I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life…”

The gate stands wide open. The wind is howling through it. The choice belongs entirely to Adam. This is one of the greatest, most terrifying acts of divine trust in the cosmos: God allows human beings to become active, conscious participants in their own structural formation.

Resurrection Hidden Inside Choice

Because the Cube contains exactly eight vertices, each corner quietly proclaims the mystery of the Eighth Day—the day of new beginnings and resurrection power.

Completion and the old material order belong to the number seven. But the number eight breaks the loop and begins something entirely new. Within this geometry, we discover that every righteous decision aligns with the Cornerstone and gives birth to a new future.

Resurrection is not merely the resuscitation of a dead corpse, nor is it a nostalgic return to what used to be. It is the sudden, miraculous emergence of a version of you that literally could not exist prior to the pressure of that decision.

  • When Adam chooses to forgive instead of executing a justified retaliation… something new is born.
  • When Adam chooses to speak the raw truth instead of hiding in the bushes of deception… something new is born.
  • When Adam claims full responsibility instead of passing the buck of blame… something new is born.

Every courageous choice resurrects another buried layer of the soul. Integrity rises. Hope rises. Trust rises. Love rises. Purpose takes its seat. The old, reactive Adam begins to fade away like smoke, and the new, sovereign Adam begins to crystallize. Every single Vertex is an eighth day.

The Courage to Begin Again

The vast majority of people live under the heavy, exhausting illusion that they are permanently trapped by the wreckage of yesterday’s choices. The architecture of the Vertices proves otherwise.

Every single gate contains another beginning.

  • Failure does not remove the gates.
  • Deep regret does not dissolve the corners.
  • Even the ongoing weight of material consequence cannot erase the vertices.

As long as Adam remains breathing inside the classroom of the Cube and remains willing to measure his life against the Cornerstone, another radical beginning is waiting right before his eyes.

This is the fierce hope woven into sacred geometry. The Cube may be an incredibly rigorous classroom of consequence, but consequence is never the final word of the Creator. Choice is. The Cornerstone remains unshakeable, the gate remains open, and the invitation remains active. Every Vertex whispers the same immutable promise: You may begin again.

The Horizon Beyond the Cube

The Vertices also offer Adam a brief, blinding glimpse of the horizon waiting completely beyond the walls of the Cube.

The Cube has served its purpose: it has trained his nervous system and soul under the immense gravity of an embodied, physical life. But the Vertices ask a higher question: Are you ready to move beyond merely surviving consequence, and begin consciously participating in the living architecture of God’s creation?

Throughout the history of sacred architecture—from ancient baptisteries to the structural layout of temples—the octagon (the eight-sided form) has consistently been used as the transitional bridge between the Square and the Circle.

The Square represents earthly, material order. The Circle represents heavenly, eternal perfection. The Octagon stands directly between them as the architecture of transition.

The eight vertices of the Cube are preparing Adam for that precise dimensional passage. They serve as a constant geometric reminder that every single righteous choice he executes is not just an escape from a mistake—it is a deliberate step upward into a completely higher way of living. The Cube was never his permanent home. It was always his preparation.

Conclusion: The Final Question of the Gate

Everything in the universe now condenses down into one single, breathless, localized moment. Adam has learned the principles. He has grown his field. He has taken his correction. He has administered his edges. He has matured his desires.

Now, the gate stands directly before him.

No one else on earth can walk through it for him. No mentor can whisper the answer, and no external structure will carry the work. The Vertex asks its second and final question, echoing through every relationship, every calling, and every human soul:

“Now that you know… what will you choose?”

Lives are never changed by the accumulation of esoteric information; lives are fundamentally rewritten by decisions. Every single choice you align with the Chief Cornerstone becomes another resurrection. Every resurrection becomes another clean beginning. And every beginning brings Adam one step closer to becoming the living, breathing sanctuary he was always created to be.
